Adapted daily living skills for Visually Impaired Students

05.17.2017

A MAB certified Vision Rehab Therapist, Sarah Milledge, along with students and teachers in the Visual Impairment program in Cleveland County recently got together for an Adapted Daily Living Skills lesson for Visually Impaired Students.Adapted daily living skills are an important part of the expanded core curriculum that students with visual impairments are supposed to learn and experience. The students were provided training for living skills such as cleaning a bathroom, making a bed, dusting a bedroom, and cooking a meal. They also got to make a grocery list and purchase the items needed to make lunch. Sarah Milledge, who is also blind, was there to show the student’s first-hand what to do and what not to do.A special thanks goes out to Sarah Milledge, an integral part of the MAB team, as well as the enthusiastic students and teachers that participated!
