MAB’s Orientation and Mobility Specialists Heather Couch and Jason Sattler offered the staff a chance to participate in a guide dog simulation. Guide dogs (also known as service animals, assistance animals or seeing eye dogs) are trained to lead blind and visually impaired people around obstacles. The human does the directing, based on skills acquired through previous mobility training. This was an insightful and challenging exercise to say the least. Thank you Heather and Jason for the opportunity!
