On July 26, 1990, our nation moved closer to fulfilling its foundational promise when we passed the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This landmark law affirms and protects the fundamental rights of people with disabilities — the right to equal opportunity, economic self-sufficiency, independent living, and equitable participation in every aspect of American life. For over three decades, the ADA has strengthened our communities, economy, and country and made them more vibrant. It has helped uphold the dignity of approximately 61 million Americans living with a disability.
The celebration for the 32nd Anniversary of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) continues all year long. MAB's Brad Blair and others in the disability community are featured in the Disability: IN North Carolina 2022 Virtual ADA celebration. This event shows personal stories and talents of North Carolinians with disabilities.
