In September we launched a partnership with the McGill Rose Garden. Clients and volunteers are invited to gather there on the second Friday of each month for fun educational topics and social time. Last month, garden volunteer Eric presented an informative talk on herbs and provided lots of samples to touch and smell. The group won't always talk about gardening, but we will have a spot at the garden that's saved just for MAB clients and volunteers to add plants and decorative items.
Join us in November for tactile map making, container planting information, and a discussion about orientation and mobility at the garden. In December, we will have a wine tasting. When the weather is nice, the group meets outside. In cold and rainy weather, there is an indoor gathering space. Guests are always welcome to visit Rosie's Coffee and Wine cafe at the garden for beverages and snacks during our meetings.
Meetings are held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The next gathering will be on Nov. 8. The McGill Rose Garden is at 940 N. Davidson St.
