How do I make a legacy gift to Metrolina Association for the Blind (MAB)?
Naming MAB in your will or living trust can be done by designating a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or the residual remaining after other bequest wishes have been fulfilled. You may also name MAB as the primary or secondary beneficiary of all or a portion of your personal or employer-provided life insurance policy.
Another way to make a legacy gift is to name MAB as the primary or secondary beneficiary of all or a portion of the proceeds from your retirement plans: IRA, 401(k) or 403(b).
Your gift can be made with simple designation language* such as:
I give to Metrolina Association for the Blind (Tax ID 56-0529998) a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization located at 704 Louise Avenue, Charlotte, North Carolina, the sum of $ ______(OR_____% of my estate, OR the property described herein. The property comprising this gift may be used for its general support and charitable purposes without restriction, at the discretion of its trustees.

Designating Metrolina Association for the Blind in your estate plan makes you eligible for membership in the MAB Vision Society. The Vision Society recognizes individuals who have made provisions in their estate plans to MAB. Provisions may include a bequest, revocable or irrevocable trust, charitable gift annuity, retirement plan, life insurance or other vehicle.
These type of gifts are very meaningful to Metrolina Association for the Blind as they support and sustain our mission “to reduce, prevent or eliminate the daily challenges experienced by people living with blindness or visual impairment…”We are honored by friends who consider making a contributions as part of their estate plan.
